i agree that many parts are priced too high, i am not the type to like to part with my money, as any of my co-workers or relatives would tell ya i am pretty darn cheap, spend alot of time checkin junk piles and dumpsters before i will actualy spend money on something. however on the other hand, you have to take into account that many other factors come into play with parts costs, inflation being one, if ya look at adds for N series for parts from the 40s or so you will see that you could purchase a fan for the radiator for under 4 dollars. surely you have to expect it to cost more now. especialy if it is nos that has been taking up storage in somones shop for 50 years or so. also, no longer are these tractors as common as they once were so of course in the 50s or 60s when there were millions of a particular tractor working the fields they were surely selling more parts than they are now when there are only a few thousand that are lightly used and not as often are parts purchased. so they just arnt gona sell the volume that they once could so thus the price has to reflect this. personaly i think that considering the age of many tractors, we as tractor collectors are extremly lucky to be able to get the huge selection and fairly good availability of most parts. try to get parts for a 41 9N, then try to get parts for a 41 ford car, im sure once ya do that you will realize that tractor parts a darn cheap and readily available comparatively. nothings cheap these days, but we sure could spend alot more money on other hobbies too i suppose.
