The truck will depend on your expertise with sheet metal. Aftermarket rocker panel and floor parts, and collision sheet metal is available for 1960's through 1970's from many places, including JC Whitney. They have all the moldings and weatherstrips, too. Older trucks you might have to shape your own sheet metal. I'm doing a rebuild of my 1975 GMC, I want a good quality job that will last longer than GM intended it to last, but I don't want to be afraid to throw scrap metal or parts into it, so a few dents and scratches will be ok, but it will be solid and have a good paint job and undercoating. Old tractors can be fun, too. You might find yourself going through a lot of junk yards and swap meets to find the right part. Ypu can even work a vacation around going to pick up the hard to find bracket or attachment, just make up something to convince the wife the trip is for her. Of course you can use the restored truck for the trip. Does this help the dilemma?
