Sent mine in a long time ago. The USDA uses that census to base their projections for farm programs on and a bunch of other stuff. No other agency has access to the information, if they did no one would fill it out. Basically the way I see it is, every one wants the family farm to hang on, if the family farmers don't fill it out and send it in, the USDA will say, "hey, no family farms so we don't need any programs for them".
