Use the welding cable. It is much more flexible. Non stranded wire is not very flexible, thats why its used in places where there isnt alot of need to bend it. I have seen only stranded wire for the majority load carrying wires to homes. Granted its not as small of a strand but it doesnt need to be as flexible as welding wire. The more strands you get, the more flexibilty you get in the same wire size. The cost also goes up too. You dont have to worry about load capacity, there is little differnce between the fine strand and the coarse strand as long as your crimp connections are good on your ends.
