I would guess that farming in 50 years won't use tractors as we know them today. When the 1900's began tractors were huge,much too big and expensive for the average farmer.Then manufacturers began to try and make tractors smaller and smaller to compete with that proverbial team of horses. Today tractors are again as large as in the beginning .Sure they have ten times the power but but they are so big and expensive no-one can afford them. I think that in 50 years most of farming will be done by robots that walk.And as time goes on the human farmer will each have legions of robots.Just imagine harmfull bugs in the crops will simply be hand=picked by these untiring robots.No more spraying required. So I predict that any tractor with a seat that a human can sit in will someday be a valuable collecter item.

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet).
