The problem with add on parts now is the complexity of cpu controlled emissions and fuel mixture. In the early 80 and mid to late 70 there was an application where you could spray the fuel mixture at a hot plate type device over on the fender well and get good atomization before entering the intake. Before that there was a pressure regulator for plain old float bowl carbs which helped just a little.
