bjuck I have never been the army but I have worked for the dept of defense for 33 years as a automech teacher in the dependent school system. The sons and daughter's parents were career military. Many of my students went into the military and I've had alot of feed back. Vietam was a mutherf###er. Three of my students were killed, two badly wounded and all who were in combat had mental problems for several years after they returned. The thing that ticks me off is that the Military, that is congress, did not take care of the vets the way they should have. Raise my taxes!!! I want to pay them for what they went through If it costs an extra 1,000 a year so be it. What my students told me is this.. 1. If you are a good student go to college first. 2. Pick a career field that is useable on the outside. 3. The airforce has the best schools and living conditions. I've worked for great team and taught many outstanding young men but it is a deadly occupation.
