Yep - I have a 97 that started doing the same thing at 60,000 miles. Talked to the Ford dealership and the shop foreman told me that usually flushing the tranny and putting in new fluid would stop the chattering. I was skeptical but spent 60.00 dollars for the flush anyway... and "shore nuff" it did the trick. No chattering now at 90,000 miles. Hope you have the same luck.
