1st trips were to nearly to Timmons to pickup two beaten 435's. My eldest was two and there where several quick pull off's onto the shoulder as we had him 1/2 toilet trained at the time. Next time out was down to Jersey for part of a 1010 to restore the 2nd 435 with. Eldest was four. Off we went trying to be back before my next shift at work in 72 hours plus get some sleep, load, unload,pickup/return the trailer to U-Haul. The thermostat began to stick sometimes at 1/4 open and the viscous fan drive went soft about the same time heading west up the turnpike in rush hour in 90F weather. Turned the AC off, the heat full on and made it off the road to cool down without getting run over. Made it into eastern Pennsylvania before finding the fan drive, in high demand that hot spell. Changed it out in a parking lot. People were real friendly, helpful coming up to offer loan of tools etc to an out of country traveller. The local cop even brought over some hand towels and cleaner. Didn't sleep enough but my boy still remembers the trip two years later. The memory of the trips are thought of and enjoyed more than the tractor.
