Have run those old Olivers for over 30 years and have found them to be tough and reliable. The Detroit 4 valve 4-53 is by far the best and cheapest to repair if the several engines Oliver used in that series of tractors. The hydraulic oil tank in under the seat in the trans cover. pull up the combo breather/oilcap/dipstick and fill to the mark with the engine stopped and any hyd accessory lowered. Fill with hytran oil. To check the trans/rearend oil you remove the upper of the two pipe plugs to the right of the pto housing. Fill with 80-90 GL5 gear oil. The power steering uses the same pump and oil as the hydraulic system. The power steering is not overly powerfull and you may not be able to turn the front wheels on soft ground unless the tractor is moving. In my area that would be a rare tractor with the MFD front axle and Detriot engine.
