You may want to check this out:
#1 Charge the going rate in interest plus damages
due to loss of crop. Base this on your upcoming harvest results. Document everything. #2 Continue communications with the court. A letter during harvest with specific figures documenting the damages will be placed in the case file if you send it to them with instructions to do so. Send it certified and include the case file # on all your documentation. Keep good records. #3 If the boy refuses payment after the fact you are now set to file both a civil action against the bitsh that showed her a$$ to you, and to the kid. They will be in contempt of court at this juncture and will face criminal charges that will not go away very easily. #4 Don't back off until you see justice prevail. That will depend on your state of mind by then. You are a victim of a stupid act that teenage boys do everywhere in this country. The way you handle it may determine how this boy will act and behave as an adult. You may find that this entire episode may be corrected to your satisfaction long before other measures take place. One thing you can't forget: the Judge has found the boy guilty. He has set precedence for reimburshment. You will win by that fact alone. How you handle it is entirely up to you. I'd let time run it's course and keep good records. #5 I did something stupid like this when I was 17 and I wasn't even drunk. Nobody showed me any slack. I paid the debt. It taught me. I'm over 50 now. Still haven't run out into any more fields. Good luck to you, you did the right thing. Pursue it, but don't let it control you. Warm Regards- Mike D.
