JT.....your comments about fixing up a vehicle to ones's own taste are well taken. However, I have just one teensy, nit-picking bit of difference with your comments. Restoration of a vehicle is, technically, the art of returning the vehicle back to its original state as manufactured. When one chooses to "personalize" a vehicle, it ceases to be a true "restoration". I have no problem with doing this, as long as the vehicle in question is not referred to as restored. It is fixed up or repaired. Not restored. I am one of those car guys who was mentioned in your post....correct everything, every nut and bolt, down to the last one. No compromises or using my personal opinion as to how it should be. The problem is the myriad of different definitions of "restored". To some people it is painting, a new mufffler and a new battery. To others, it means spending years to get it exactly as it left the factory. No holds barred. This route, obviously, is not for everyone. It is time-consuming and expensive. There is room in the hobby for both approaches. We are all trying to preserve a little piece of the past. Good luck and enjoy your project. All the best......P
