I just replaced the intake gaskets on my 98 Chevy with 5 litre Vortec... I seems to be a problem, my Napa dealer told me he had sold a pile of the kits. My truck has only 50,000 miles. It started leaking at 30,000 but I could not locate it ( very small at the time) Dealer wanted 5 hours labor plus parts.. This worked out to $400 Cdn plus ( Provincial Sales Tax 8% + 7% GST Goods and Service)taxes plus parts. I was a horrible job to do.. It took me 12 hours and I know my way around under a car hood.. There are plenty of wires and sensors to disconnect,ac unit, the distributor has to be pulled, valve covers need to come off. I can do the gasket in my 92 GMC 10 times in the time it took me to do this one.. Since the gasket I have also had trouble with the camshaft position sensor, an o2 sensor ( the 3rd)and the EGR..
