The only place it will bother you is if you would get a haybine - I don't suppose you will go to that expense for 5 acres? The front wheels will run the swath down into the ground, where a wide front would straddle it. Narrow fronts are slightly more tippy, but are more manuverable. If you make a habbit of trying to go through mushy gummy wet dirt, the narrow front will sink in more, & will pack up with dirt. Generally you should not be driving there by the time you get to that point. On a loader, then a wide front is safer & distributes the heavy load over a wider area. Narrow works fine tho, if you are safe. Another way of looking at it: I like the wide front on my 960 for most things - glad dad kept that one. However, I liked the narrow front 960 we had also, it turned shorter, and made little difference which we used for what. For blading snow & muck in the cow yard, the wide front is better. For running the moco, the wide front is better. Needed the narrow front for the front-mount cultivator. Everything else was a wash. --->Paul
