No offense to you, Trish, because you obviously didn't know. I'd like to smack the person who started this rumor because I am so tired of it. All right, here it goes: Ford tested the 5.9L Cummins diesel, the same as what's in the Dodge, in its full-size pickups back in 1997. After testing it, Ford decided to negotiate a new engine supply contract with Navistar, which started in 2002 and runs through 2012. Ford has NO financial or other interest in Cummins. Absolutely none. Ford does not own Navistar, either. Ford and Navistar do have a joint venture in which Navistar started building Ford F-650 and F-750 trucks on Navistar's Next Generation Truck chassis last December, but aside from that and the diesel engine supply contract, that's it. Neither company owns any stock in each other.
