Imbed SEVERAL anchors in the floor so that the hooks are under floor level (or loops). My son and I built my 34 X 70shop when he was 12 yeaRS OLD. hE IS NOW 37. I have a bridge crane that travels under power. A 1/8 inch cable powers the cross beam with friction on a 1 inch pipe. The pipe is powered by a worm. A 1/3 hp washing motor mounted on a hinge within reach (long belt) I twist or straighten the belt according to which way I want it to go. The cable is wrapped around the pipe, I think, 8 times. It pulls one way. The other end of the cable goes through a pulley at the far end to pull it the other way. The cross trolley is notpowered. I have had 58 pounds swinging on it and it moved it under power. I asked for a lot of advice from a lot of people, so these are not all my original ideas. The hoist idea is mine. I passed the suggestion on imbedded hooks to a neighbor. He installed one and wished they had installed at least three. It really helps when straightening stuff out. Make your main door TALLER than 12 feet. Mine is 12 feet. We had to remove the steering tires from a combine and back it in on the bubs to pull the engine.
