The electric winch would probably do what you want, but don't just figure the weight of the machine. If you're mired at just the wheels, the pull to free it is DOUBLE the weight of the machine. This increase again in deeper mud/sand and also on inclines. The hydraulic ram idea is a good one. For lots of winching, I'd use a PTO model. Electric winches pull a ton of amps. Just some thoughts.
