Last night at 12:30 AM, our little dog, a boston terrier, wanted to go outside. My wife had been letting him out about every hour since we went to bed at 10. So she was kinda mad. Well anyway, she got up and let him out the back door, which is right off our bedroom, then she went and got herself a glass of water from the kitchen. When she went back to the back door, she called for him. Then I heard her talking loudly. There was a coyote on top of our fire wood pile running and jumping and playing with our dog and, to top it off, there were 4 or 5 of our barn cats playing with him too. My wife finally got our dog in and then the coyote come up and acted like he wanted in too. By that time I was up to see what the racket was and I saw the coyote. He stood there and looked at me, trotted a little ways then turned around and stared at me again and then trotted off to the east out of site. Believe me, after raising sheep years ago, I know what coyotes are and it was no domestic dog. Has anybody ever heard of something like this? Generally, coyotes usually eat cats as well as small dogs. What gives here? Kinda long, I just thought I would share it, its just unbelievable.
