It's all in how you are prepared, but; I see garbage trucks in NYC with little pick-up blades on them for pushing snow. Here in MN, it's big heavy dump trucks, with a load of gravel or salt on the back, and a 5' high blade on the front. They move some snow at 50 mph!!! The airport in Minneapolis probably never would have shut down - maybe 40% of the flights would have been affected, & deicing & delays- but those folks amaze me, how they handle the snow on a runway! They just don't shut that airport down. Highways are only shut down if it is a blizzard - zero visibility with strong winds. A foot of snow slows us down a bit, 2 feet will close the schools. But snow isn't a big deal. Ice & wind are always the factors around here. Don't see any front blades, like folks are talking about here on tractors. We need blowers to get that snow out of our way. We are not 'better' on this. We are more prepared, because we have to be. --->Paul
