We usually have quite a bit of snow in my area of Eastern Washington and usually have at least a week or 2 of below zero temperatures. This year about the coldest weather was in late October, when it went down to single digits and I don't think we have ever had a snowfall that measured 5". I have only plowed twice, and was pretty hard on the gravel both times. I had a new back blade I wanted to try. We have had lots of rain--supposedly a couple of inches more than normal precipitation for this time of year. I guess there is something to that "El Nino" idea of a weather system. I pay fairly close attention to the weather on TV and have noticed that the jet stream, which is often right above our location, has mostly been far North of here this season. We have had very unusually mild temperatures, almost like the wet side of the State. I sure haven't missed driving in the snow, but since most of our electricity comes from hydroelectric projects, I hope the accumulations in the mountains are sufficient. And I hope we don't have a real dry summer. I guess one good thing about there being rain instead of snow is that since the ground is not frozen, most of the precipitation has soaked in, instead of just melting off and going down the creek. So there should be pretty good moisture at least until early summer.

If it would just start when I turn the key, then I would use it more often. In addition to a bad case of old age, most of the tractor's original electrical system was simply too unreliable to keep. The main focus of this page is to show how I upgr
