Was the TA an option? I think the one 1586 I was in didn't even have the lever in the dash, but maybe it had been eliminated. As far as the 4440 goes, I didn't think about it before, but it doesn't even belong in the same class with the 1586. I've seen guys with 12-row mounted planters on 4440s, and I've seen them at 180 hp and more, but the 4640 and 4840 are more in the same class with the 1586. Deere's Parts Country program works pretty well. I did a clutch in a 1486 a couple weeks ago, and we got the clutch and flywheel through the dealership here, and I had it the next day. Quality parts and good prices. As far as the Deere/IH comparo, the 40 series is a better tractor all the way around - with more features. People like to rip on Deeres for costing more, but they don't always consider what they're getting for the extra $$$$. I've spent a lot of time in 86 series IH tractors, and I'd take the 40 series anyday, but that's personal opinion.
