The 800 series has more weight, more power, and better hydraulics. Unless you have a front end loader you probably won't be able to pick up the hoe with the 9N before the front wheels lift off the ground. You will also find the underside of a 9N is a bit shorter and hasn't got the attachment holes of an 800. You'd be better off finding a 600 or 800 or early 4 cylinder 2000 series for the backhoe, and making a dedicated machine. Especially if the cradle you speak of is a undercarriage that bolts up to the machine to mount the hoe instead of hanging it off a three point. You may also find the 9N hydraulic pump inadequate. The 800 pump may or may not be enough, with a PTO mounted pump or front pump on the front pulley being the best setup. Backhoes can be very handy.. Even if you cannot afford another tractor right now, think hard and long before letting go of that hoe. Good luck! Truck
