I am going through the very same thing right now with my Ford 5.8, it turned out to be 2 cracked heads!!!! I found out Friday that the exhaust manifolds are also so warped that after resurfacing they don't even line up right anymore...$1400 and still counting.....

I pulled the head, and soaked the stuck valves with mystery oil overnight, re-installed the head, and bingo, the compression returned.
