My E-350 11,000# cube van with a 460 gas also gets 10-10-10-10-10. Must be a Ford thing in general. As to getting a diesel. I toyed with the idea when I was shopping, but shyed away when I heard the horror stories about Ford Diesels dying early due to some sort of cavitation problem in the cooling system. Supposedly, it was due to poor communications, rather than poor design... they didn't tell anyone to add some stuff to the cooling system. The real beef most people had was that they paid big bucks for the optional engine, didn't follow the correct maintenence cuz ford didn't tell them to, and when the engines died at 70K miles, ford would not help them out at all. The resale value of a ford diesel from the early 90's should be about zilch if the buyer knows about this problem, since the engine may be just about ready to develop a pencil sized hole through one of the cylinder walls. Replacement engines are in the 4-5K range, I seem to recall.
