This all points out the importance of preventative maintence. Dad always taught me to look over each piece of equipment every time we finished using on a daily basis. Topping off all fluid levels is a part of this routine. This reminds me of a story Dad told about his Dad and a neighbor man. Both bought a new horse drawn mowing machine one spring. Grandad took great care of his equipment including lubrication. The neighbor came over two years later to borrow Grandads mowing machine. It seems the neighbor believed lubrication was a waste of time and money but his machine was worn out so bad he couldn't use it. He was sent home empty handed.

Earthmaster Project Progress Just a little update on my Earthmaster......it's back from the dead! I pulled the head, and soaked the stuck valves with mystery oil overnight, re-installed the head, and bingo, the compression returned.
