Did a 12v conversion on a Farmall 200, which ought to be about the same conversion. I did mine because I needed to replace the lights, and all I could find were more expensive than re-doing the system to 12volts. Total cost in parts included a handful of nuts and washers, a piece of metal for the bracket to mount alternator, a rebuilt alternator, with plug ($30 at a local rebuilder), battery, (needed anyway,) new coil, and of course new lamps. I needed 12volts to provide for other auxillary lighting, and accessories anyway. total cost probably less than $75. Use Red Dave's suggestion, the article by BobM is right on.
