Prices of land and even residential properties have not been effected by slow economy, at least not yet in most areas. Many farmers are still in an expansion mode wanting to produce more volume more efficiently to stay above water and land rents are not going down either. Supposedly the soft market in used tractors is in "medium" sized, I guess around 100hp. They are too small for real farmers who are expanding with more land and too big for someone with a few acres. Medium-sized farms are what are really disappearing, the trend is to either very big or very small. A recession will probably drive prices down on tractors bought for collecting or as a hobby; when money is tight hobbies, expensive vacations, fancy restaurants and wine etc. are the first place people cut back.
