Need some educated / experienced opinions. I'm looking at 2 tractors, a late model 8N (side dist & proofmtr) and an 801 series w/sos. Both are complete and in good shape mech, hydro & rubber wise and comparable as far as looks go. PTO's both good. The sos on the 801 is quiet, shifts smooth (with the norm lurch where it shifts ranges) with all 10 & 2 there, PS is fair to good, good cold starts, but cross your fingers after its warm. The 8N starts 1 or 2 cranks hot or cold and comes w/back blade & rtry mower. The question: For the same money which would be the better deal? Use: light utility farm work and refurb toy.
