Gary, The 8n is a good tractor for its time. With the 3 point hitch it is very usefull for bush-hogging, finish mowing, grading, post hole digging, ect. It does lack the safety features of the modern tractors such as a roll bar or live PTO, however I would suggest you purchase a slip clutch for PTO if it does'nt allready have one. A conversion to 12 volts would help starting problems or keep in good running condition should start OK. Parts are still readilly availlable for 8n and a good site (besides this one) is http://members.aol.com/Nseries/nseries.html
