It appears that this is an "unpopular" size! I have a 606 John Deere cutter, which I breifly thought of trading up to a 709 cutter. The dealer wanted $1750 for the 709, but thought my very similar but one foot smaller 606 worth only $350-400 on trade. Needless to say I didn't care much for the offer, and consequently still have the 606. I think that the hobbyists generally want a five footer, and anyone really serious about weed whacking with one of these things wants at least seven or eight feet. Personally, I think that the 603 or 606 SHOULD be worth at least $1000 before selling one even starts to look attractive. Of course, if you are BUYING a six foot cutter, it would be good to know that these are priced so low, so that when you go to look at one, especially at a DEALER, you can remind them as to how "unpopular" (SUUURRE!) they are, and that with such a LOW VALUE, you could help them out and be generous at the same time with a $400-500 offer!
