Since bringing home a '55 Ferguson TO-35 Deluxe two weeks ago it has had minor problems all fixed with new points, plugs, distributor cap, and rotor. The big problem is it has gone through two starters in less than one week. Last night it tore apart a NEW starter that was installed because it previously tore up the starter that came with the tractor. The first starter seemed old, a component for a long time. Should I be looking for a damaged flywheel with teeth that tearing up the starter? Or, should I look for an electrical problem that causes the starter to hesitate when starting thus tearing up the bendix? Lastly, is there something operator related that I should know about a TO-35 that results in damaged starters? At $175 each I can't go through too many starters before going broke. Thank you for your assistance in advance. Jim
