If the block is good, you could most likely fix the engine up again with a little know-how. Perhaps getting engine knowledge from a friend or the freindly folks on this site. I prefer to use the same block if at all possible in a restoration. Other engine parts can be acquired for the engine from salvage yards (used parts) or I think some parts, pistons, rings, sleeves, ext. are still available new but are pricey. Just remember, you have to know a little something about an engine to fix it up. Not something you will want to learn as you do. Learn and then do. Seek advice from someone who is F-20 oriented. An F-20 engine is somewhat different than more modern engines. I like to use automatic transmission fluid to soak the pistons/cylinders. Simply remove spark plug and fill it up, then put plug back in. If you decide to sell, sell it as is. The more parts swapping you do, putting lesser quality parts on the tractor you are going to sell would lesson the value of the tractor you are selling. If you are going to sell it, try to sell it as complete as you can. Will increase the odds that the next guy will restore it. Otherwise they might just buy it for parts. I restored an F-20 in simular condition. I am real mechanically oreinted and didn't have to much trouble. Took alot of time working on it, had the burden of finding some parts, and so on. The F-20 is easy to work on except for the parts are heavy. If you could acquire some help with the engine work, I would guess that you would be capable of doing the rest. You could perhaps, even do the engine work yourself if you had someone to coach ya. Experience information is important on engine work. You can dig a hole deaper if you do not know what you are doing and commense to engine work.
