Fred, Suggest you contact Genesee Products (andy) and secure their 12V kit. Also, contact any of the tractor parts supply places, and order a new key switch, NAPA Distributor cap (with brass contacts and not aluminum contacts), and rotor, and condensor and points. Why not, it's not that all expensive and easy to re-do the electrical and tune-up. Once I had a small fleck of debris, less than 1/32" find it's way in from the sediment bowl into the hollow bolt on the carb. It shut the tractor down fast too. Blocked fuel flow. Something as small as that can do it too. Good luck, post your results.
