We have had both, well actually had a 7045 but basically the same. The Allis was a good tractor, had lots of power. They seem to get out of time a lot around here for some reason. Then they wont start up even in warm weather. They only thing I didn't like was the way the "clutch" pedal worked. 3/4 of the way down disengauged the tranny and all the way down locked up the tranny brake. Who doesnt naturally push the pedal all the way down? I think this is what lead to the powershift tranny to fail in ours. The 2255 we had had the 3150 Cat. Those are rock solid engines, the 3208 alike. Had more power than the Allis but the over/under unit failed several times, on both the 2255's we had. It seemed to blow hydraulic lines all the time too. Unfortunately they only carry a 35 gallon fuel tank so an additional tank is a must! Oh, and the cab on the Allis is not for the closterphobic! Man is that thing small. Hope this helps.
