Synthetic makes cold starts possible where conventional would require the block heater. That engine doesn't leak a drop. 227,000 miles. My '96 Dakota already had a leaky rear main seal when I switched. Was leaking a quart in 1000 miles. Now its down to a quart in 1500 miles. Truck has 130,000 I change at 4000 miles because I don't do intermediate filter changes. If I had a garage I'd do more like Jim's schedule.
