Last summer I purchased a new Massey 231s as a replacement for an older Massey 35. I use the machine primarily for mowing. Our property has some very steep slopes that have to be mowed regularly. The old 35 would pull these hills without a problem. Although neither machine lacks for power the new 231s won't pull the slopes without spinning the wheels. Both machines have the same size tires, they both had the tires filled with antifreeze and the 231 weighs about 800 lbs. more. I can't understand why the newer tractor has this traction problem. I currently have 18 lbs. of air in the 231 rear tires, can't remember what was in the 35. What can I do to improve traction? Any and all suggeations would be appreciated.
