Yikes Les! Don't assume I know all that much. That's the same tractor though. I asked Carl, my retired machinist buddy who keeps me out of trouble making custom parts, and he confirmed what I'd remembered. His thought was that your duals and chains would make a large difference. There was plenty of hydraulic for the bucket. Part of what I was remembering was my hauling a 24" wood planer, jack shaft driven and bought from one of my neighbors, for him and us having an interesting time getting it off my truck. You'd think the Hough would have no problem but we ended up sliding it down planks using a winch to pull. But nobody, or the machine, got hurt. Just another fun afternoon, but neither of my tractors would have had any problem. Clearly another way to look at it is to compare what it would cost you for another machine that will do comparable work, presumably what you were originally doing. Then $4000 doesn't look bad, as long as you're convinced it'll do what you have in mind. Not something I'd be bringing home but I live on a mountain and don't consider anything without track or all wheel drive. And the Case at last Saturday's auction brought $13000, not from me. Good luck with it. Tom

Uncle Cecil was the second owner of this wonderful little tractor, but it was almost as though he had adopted an infant. The original owner was a man from Minnesota who bought her from a local dea
