Aloha, I have a Sony Elf 100 and I use it to take pictures of anything that I want to save for future reference. I would look for something that has 2 mega-pixels or more and that can do close-ups, such as small parts, schematics on wiring, etc. "The only feature I want is an LCD screen to review the pictures without going back to a computer". I would look for something that has a large LCD screen because a small one is very hard to look at. My Sony's screen is only 1 1/4" X 7/8" and that makes it very hard to view but I don't mind because when I load it to my computer the size increases. Hope this helps. Mahalo, Howard
