The Fordson Major was built from 1953 to 1958, and had 38,59 horsepower. It had a 3-point hitch with no draft control. In 1958, the 220 in. Diesel was upped to 47 HP, and the tractor was then called the "Power Major". In 1961, the Power Major was equipped with improved hydraulics, cat 1 and 2 hitch, diff lock, and head lites in the grill, and with these upgrades it was called the Super Major and remained in production until 1963, when it morphed into the Ford 5000. All versions had the same 220 CID Diesel and were made in England. A real beast, solid iron! The Brits made (and still make ) world class Diesels. just my $0.02.
