You have it right I think. I used a HYTRAN equivalent from my local distributor in lift box and tranny, per the manual. If it meet International B 6 specs it sould be ok. Do not use anything that does not meet the HYTRAN/ B 6 specs. The equiv oil is about half the cost of HYTRAN. I would not recommend mixing different brand of fluid/oil. According to my manual diagram the check plug is on the right side, However in the manual they just show the right side view and things on the left side are a lighter color and my manual is fairly worn, so the plug may be on the left side. Mine is pretty dirty down there right now :) It is a bit muddy here. Since I have the front loader/pump I check mine thru the filler opening ( level is 6 inches down from top of opening ). Do order the operators manual if you have not already, lots of good stuff in there. Keep in mind that this info is coming from a 2444/444 manual. Tractor is similiar but with slight differences in the gearbox area.
