If you check the various chevy truck boards you will find that it is piston slap. And it is a very common problem with the new vortec engines in general. I haven't been following it close enough to know if their has been any resolution with the problem with GM. Last I heard is that GM says its not a problem, don't worry about it. The only people who think its a problem are the owners.
