BJ ---- The first thing that comes to mind, is it is in two gears......and maybe the shifter feels a little loose........its been a long time, but remove the top plate that holds the shifter onto the tranny.....pull it out and inspect the tin shell that is on the shifter.....mine was broke loose all the way around......I have fixed others that were not broke ioo%...clean it up and braze it back in place...it will be easy to match up......shift the gears into nutral with a large screw driver....now you should be abel to move the tractor by hand...carefully put the shifter back on...put the corner bolts in and try shifting...if OK, put her back togeather.
