The curb weight is based on the bottom of the line base model truck. Each option you add reduces the GVW of the truck. This is why the manufacturers have the weight of the options listed in the ordering book. Friend of mine has a F150 with all the bells and whistles,x-cab,4wd. Time all the option weights are added on,and a full tank of gas,with him and his wife in the truck,he has enough load capacity left for about 4 bags of groceries and his wifes purse. Very few people buy a truck for a truck anymore, they are high optioned passenger cars with an open trunk.
