I think a steel drum is kinda thin, I'd guess it will not last more than this one use & have holes & leaks in it. CC will rust steel with oxygen - it is a salt. A thicker walled pipe or propane-type tank would be much better. I'd check the local scrap yards for something else, a bigger culvert or pipe. The drum you could fill with concrete & get years of life out of it. Are you planning on rolling your drive in layers? You really can't compact more than 6" at a time. Sounds like it is already all in place. Might need to drain it first & then get it compacted. Areas like this can be a cronic problem..... 3-point might be nice, but how big is your tractor? If it's big enough to lift it, it's probably going to leave more tracks than the roller can smooth out.... Also a 3-point hookup would scrape gravel as you tern, you don't want that, you just want it to roll. --->Paul
