Painting will make the tractor more desirable. Two reasons for this: The prospective buyer can not say that the tractor isn't worth what you might be asking because it needs paint and that would cost $XXX amount to paint. Also painting the tractor will protect the metal from further rusting and detrioration which automaticaly increase value. And the prospective buyer might actually say "I can tell this tractor was taken car of because the present owner cared enough about it to keep the paint in good condition, therefore he must have taken care of the rest of the tractor." This and $1 should get you a cup of coffe at most places.
