WHen the Willys came back from WWII there were all sorts of accessories one could buy to make it a farm vehicle. Among these was the PTO you saw, and also there was a three point hitch availiable. The Jeep that would normally have been sold new at the time was a CJ-2A. If the jeep you were looking at had no provision for a tailgate it may even have been a former military jeep MB or Ford GPW. I'm sure if it is military there are lots of us out here in jeepland who would like to know what yard it was, and if it is a CJ2 folks are collecting those also. Putting a V8 in an old flatfender is almost sacrilege to the jeep guys nowadays, as ther are so many more CJ-5, 7, and wranglers out there to make rockcrawlers of. Neat find, anyhow! Probably not the most practical tractor in the world but it beat no tractor!
