There is a good article in the "articles" section (left margin menu) here at YT magazine on rebuilding a tractor carb. It refers to a Marvel Schebler model but the Zenith ones are similar and the same rules sort of apply. One weakness in the article I think is that they imply that removing brass fittings (like the main fuel nozzle, needle seat, jets) is done easily, and it's NOT. To get that stuff out the carb body (if it is cast iron) has to be heated with a propane torch or in an oven (home or barbeque) to a good warm temperature. Handle the carb body with oven mitts and use the right sized screwdriver or socket to carefully remove the brass part. You might have to file down a big screwdriver to fit the needle seat slots properly.If you don't do that (apply the heat) chances are that you'll end up with a piece of scrap iron on your hands since the brass will strip or break off. I often leave that brass stuff in there without removing it (I've messed up more than one carb body trying to get it out) as long as you soak the carb body (before air-hosing out everything) with a real good (expensive) carb cleaning compound that comes in pails with a wire dip basket. NAPA will probably have the good stuff.
