A magneto uses PERMENANT MAGNETS to produce the magnetic field which is colapsed when the points CLOSE, this shorts the primary winding and colapses the magnetic field which induces voltage in the secondary winding. A battery ignition produces a magnetic field by running battery voltage through the primary winding of the coil.When the points OPEN the current flow in the primary winding is stopped which colapses the magnetic field and induces voltage in the secondary winding.
Your the one that better check the reference books,then you will see I am correct.
