Hi Jim, I don't use T-1. For the larger calibers you will need to use 1/2" plate comon steel, nothing special. I made a swing target with some pipe fittings. The 1/2" x 8" diameter dics are mounted on a 3/4" pipe that mountes to a 1-1/4" T, that swings around a 3/4" pipe when hit. I used 1/2" 90's welded to the 3/4" pipe for the screw on 1/2" pipe legs. That way I can disassymble for transportation, (people steal my target if left there) This handles a 44mag at 15yds and a 45-120 at 100yds without bending the plate. Has a very nice ring to the plate when hit. The target swings around several times when hit dead center but quickly stops moving. To make it interesting we added 1- 2" and 1- 4" circles. The bullet descendergrates(sp) upon hitting the target and in 4 thousand rounds without richoet. 3/8" plate was a waste of time as after 1000 rounds or so the plate dished in the center like a bowl T_Bone

We thought we could get by with this since the engine ran perfectly and would not need any internal work. After the cleanup and painting was done, we began reassembly and finally came to t
