First and for most, you will want to clean all fuel filters/ screens/ and sediment bowl. If it is just dirt and crude in the tank, you can probably remove tank and do a slosh and rense out procedure. If it is rust, then either the tank is rusty or (if using a fuel barrel) the fuel barrel is rusty inside. If it from a fuel barrel then you can probably do the slosh and rense thing with the tank and make sure you put a filter on the outlet of your fuel barrel. If the rust is from inside the tank, then with a removed empty tank put a bunch of screws in it and rattle them around in there untill all rust is worked loose and then rense it out.
